Manchester United are threatening to pull ahead of their rivals in their bid to secure the signature of Italy international striker, Andrea Belotti.
The Italian has been one of the most potent strikers in Europe this season, after netting 25 goals so far. His performances has drawn the admiration of several top European sides including Chelsea, and Manchester United.
Reports from Italy this morning is claiming that Manchester United have begun talks with the striker’s club about the player’s transfer.
The Red Devils have lost their top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic to a long term injury making their search for a top striker even more necessary.
They have been linked to several top strikers including Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann, Everton’s Romelo Lukaku, and AS Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe, but Mourinho has reportedly focused his attention on Belotti.
Belotti signed a new contract last December that keeps him at the club until 2021, and increased his release clause to £84 million. This clause can reportedly only be activated by teams outside of Italy.
The player is currently settled at the club, but has not ruled out a big money move in the future.
