Some of Manchester United’s summer transfer targets are subject to interest from the Chinese league. This would be a huge setback for United who may have to pay over the amount they initially projected for the players.
Chinese league teams tend to offer astronomical amounts for a player they are interested in, even if the player does not move, the selling teams then tend to use the Chinese team’s interest as a leverage to ask for higher transfer fees and the players asking for higher wages from the European teams.
United have been interested in Inter’s pair of Marcelo Brozovic and Ivan Perisic after Mourinho was spotted watching Croatia’s game during the last international window.
Inter Milan are reportedly ready to sell some of their under performing stars to make way for new super players. The San Siro club are now owned by a Chinese Consortium and have enough cash to spend in both keeping their star players happy as well as buying new ones.
United hope to sign Brozovic and Perisic who are said to have not impressed the club’s owners, but now face a major competition after Fabio Cannavaro’s Tianjin Quanjian registered their interest in the pair.
It would be interesting to see if the players will choose playing for money in China over playing in the best league in the world.
