Manchester United are on the verge of landing another Chelsea target. The Red Devils beat the Blues to the signing of Romelu Lukaku last week. The Belgian had been on Chelsea’s radar all summer, with Antonio Conte reportedly discussing how he plans to use the 24-year-old. However, the Blues kept on dragging their feet and United hijacked the deal, despite their best attempt to rescue the deal at the last minute.
Now, StarSports is reporting that the Red Devils are set to hijack Chelsea’s transfer of AS Monaco’s Tiemoue Bakayoko. The tall midfielder has been one of Chelsea’s summer transfer targets and has reportedly agreed to personal terms with the Blues, however, the two clubs are yet to conclude on the fees, now Manchester United have joined the race, and would wrap it up fast.
Jose Mourinho has been chasing Bakayoko’s teammate, Fabinho all summer, but the French club has put a stop to selling their stars this summer, which has seen them turn their attention to Bakayoko.
The Portuguese tactician had initially wanted to sign Nemanja Matic, but after beating Chelsea to Lukaku, the Blues have ruled out any deal with the Red Devils this summer.
