Man Utd set to reward top star in bid to thwart Real Madrid advances

Zinedine Zidane’s hope of signing David De Gea next season has been dealt a huge blow, after United indicated their willingness to increase the player’s salary and tie him to a new contract.

The Red Devils have perfected plans to sit down with the Spaniard at the end of the season to tie down his long-term future.

De Gea has been in sensational form for the past few seasons, winning the club’s player of the season last season. This goes to show how important the Spain’s number one is to the club.

The 26 year still has two years left on his current deal, but United want to tie him down to the club for the foreseeable future.

De Gea almost signed for Real Madrid two seasons ago, but the move happened too late after lengthy negotiations, he returned to sign a new contract at Old Trafford. However, Real Madrid seem to still circling around the player who is loved by their coach as well as the club’s board.

De Gea currently earns about £200,000 per week, but the club wants to increase that and make him one of the highest earning players in the team.
