Real Madrid President Florentino Perez appears to have accepted that Man Utd keeper David de Gea will sign a new contract with the Red Devils before his contract runs down.
Real Madrid had made de Gea one of their primary targets in the summer and a deal was almost completed and with the Spaniards contract up next summer some had thought that Madrid would get their man for free, not so according to Perez.
“He is there and we have three very good goalkeepers. We have not told him not to sign (a new deal). He has to do what is best for his career. It’s very difficult that he does nothing for a year. When people say: “wait for a year and then he comes free” that has never happened with any big player.”
There you go, even Perez believes de Gea will extend his contract and he is almost certainly correct in his assessment of the situation.
