Manchester United have ended their pursuit of Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic, and they have turned their attention to RB Leipzig’s Emil Forsberg. The Red devils have failed to reach an agreement with Inter Milan over the transfer of Perisic in one of the longest transfer sagas of this summer.
Jose Mourinho has made it clear he wants a midfielder and a winger capable of providing assists to his attackers this summer and had watched Perisic last season with hopes of signing the Croatian. However, the Portuguese manager appears to have asked his club to switch their attention away from Perisic and focus of Forsberg instead.
Forsberg is also not going to be easy to sign, as Leipzig continue to insist that the Swede and Liverpool target, Naby Keita are going nowhere.
Forsberg provided the highest number of assist in Europe’s top five leagues last season, 5 more than Ousmane Dembele in the Bundesliga and one more than Kevin De Bruyne.
The Red Devils would be hoping to get an easier chase for Forsberg than Liverpool have gotten in their quest to sign Keita.
