Manchester United are set to announce the completion of their first transfer deal this week. The Red Devils have seen their neighbours Manchester City kick off their summer spending spree, and they are set to follow suit.
The English media are reporting that United have completed a deal for Sweden international Victor Lindelof, and will announce the deal this week after completing the paperwork.
Lindelof came close to signing for the Red Devils during the winter transfer window, but the form of Marcos Rojo made Jose Mourinho to call off the deal at the death. The Swedish international signed an improved deal with Benfica that January as he looked forward to the summer.
The Red Devils are now back in for him as they look to add more options to their team ahead of a return to Europe next season.
Benfica is believed to be demanding a fee in excess of £35 million, but the Red Devils are hoping to complete the transfer for a £30 million fee.
His arrival would open the door for more transfers as the Red Devils still have an interest in the likes of Romelu Lukaku and James Rodriguez.
