Real Madrid’s pursuit of David De Gea has been dealt a major blow, after Manchester United decided the player is not for sale.

According to the reports, United have decided they will instead offer the Spaniard a new deal that would make him one of the highest earners at the club.

Real Madrid has been trying to sign De Gea for some time now, he almost joined the Los Blancos in 2015, but United decided to sell him late and the deal broke down because some papers was signed after the transfer deadline.

Real believe they can land the Spaniard this summer, with United likely to miss out on the Champions League next season, De Gea may leave so that he can test himself in the best competition in the World.

United’s reluctance to sell is a cause of worry for Chelsea. If Real fail to land De Gea, they would most likely turn their attention to Chelsea Courtois.

The Belgian is yet to sign a new deal in London, and has not done enough to show that he is interested in remaining in London.
