Chelsea has been joined in the race to sign Real Madrid defender, Danilo by Manchester City.
The Brazilian is a top target for some of Europe’s best teams after helping Real Madrid win a historic back to back Champions League crown.
Danilo, who joined from FC Porto in the summer of 2015 has failed to nail down a starting spot in the Los Blancos team as Zinedine Zidane continues to prefer Daniel Carvajal over the Brazilian. He is said to be desperate for more playing time as he looks to be among the Brazilian contingent for next year’s World Cup in Russia.
Chelsea has been favourites to sign him all summer as Antonio Conte sees him as a good fit to provide competition for Victor Moses.
Manchester City has allowed three of their first team defenders to leave the club this summer already and are in need of reinforcement after signing only Kyle Walker so far. They are looking to complete a deal for Benjamin Mendy from AS Monaco, but Danilo remains an attractive addition to make.
Real Madrid would not stand in his way if Danilo decides to move and join any of the English giants, and have reportedly placed a £35 million price tag on his head.
