Manchester City have joined the race to sign one of their rival’s best players. French media outlet, Telefoot, is claiming that Pep Guardiola has asked City’s board to sign Arsenal centre back Laurent Koscielny, if the Frenchman becomes available this summer.
Koscielny is one of the few Arsenal players who have stood out in an Underwhelming campaign for the Gunners this season.
Marseille have been at the fore front of signing the former Lorient star as they try to build a team around some of the best players from France. They are currently trying to sign Koscielny and his team mate, Olivier Giroud after signing Patrice Evra and Dimitri Payet during the January transfer window.
Manchester City are planning to rebuild their defence this season, with John Stones the only defender that would probably be left when Pep Guardiola finishes his transfer activities this summer, and he wants Koscielny to help guide the young Englishman.
However, Koscielny is believed to be settled in London, and a move away from the city is very unlikely. He also just signed a new long term contract with the Gunners last summer.
