As a response to the uncertainties surrounding the future of David De Gea, Manchester United have identified Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak as the man who can replace the Spaniard.
Real Madrid looks set to sign David De Gea this summer, and the Spaniard’s absence from last weekend’s game was a clear indication that Jose Mourinho was planning for life after the Spaniard.
Jan Oblak is one of the best goalies in Europe, last season he was the best goalie in Spain after conceding only 18 goals in 38 games, it was a record equalling feat that saw him win the Zamora award.
Manchester have the funds to keep any of their players and recently signed Jese Lingard to a new long term deal that pays him £100,000 per week. However, if any of their stars wants to leave the club they cannot stop him.
It is believed that David De Gea will ask to leave this summer and united are unlikely going to stand in his way.
Oblak is also a target for Chelsea who may also lose Courtois to Real Madrid if the club fails to land De Gea.
