Manchester United are concerned that David De Gea may clamour for a move to Real Madrid next season, and have identified Samir Handanovic as an ideal replacement.
Real Madrid are confident they can lure the Spaniard with a big money move and huge salary. United have plans of their own to tie down the Spaniard to a new long term contract but are making contingency plans in case the Madrid native decides to leave.
According to the media, some at Man Utd are sceptical about the Spaniards future beyond this season. Just to avoid coming up short, they have started identifying targets that could replace the 26 year old.
United have also been linked with AC Milan’s teenage sensation, Gianluigi Donnarumma however they know that it would require a world record bid to prize the Italian away from AC Milan.
Signing Handanovic would be less complicated, especially given his age and the availability of Chinese money at Inter Milan.
Even if De Gea stays, United would still love to sign a deputy with the experience of Handanovic.
