Manchester United look to have dealt a hammer blow to Chelsea ambitions

Premier League top goalscorer Romelu Lukaku would not be short of suitors when the summer transfer window opens. The Toffees hit man is a target of several top European teams, and a move away from Merseyside is very likely.

Chelsea were thought to be leading the race to sign the Belgian, after it emerged that Diego Costa will likely move to the Chinese Super League this summer.

However the Belgian is said to favour a move to Old Trafford to play under Jose Mourinho who sold him to Everton. The reason being that Lukaku thinks Antonio Conte would demand him to press opposing defenders from their own half, while Jose Mourinho would allow him to play a free role, and charge him with only goal scoring responsibilities.

It is intriguing why he would want to rejoin Mourinho when one considers that it was the same Mourinho who decided to sell him to Everton.

Lukaku is on course to finally win the Premier League’s golden boot after losing out on the award to Harry Kane last season. He has already netted 86 goals in 164 appearances for Everton. © 2017 Frontier Theme
