Everton’s Romelu Lukaku’s move to Manchester United has experienced a major setback.
The Belgian was said to be close to agreeing on a move to Old Trafford within the next few days, but that move has been held back after the player’s father urged him to consider the interest from another team.
German giants Bayern Munich have reportedly joined the race for the attacker who has scored over 70 goals for the Toffees.
Bayern is looking for another striker that would partner Robert Lewandoski, as they look to challenge for both local and international glory next season, and Carlo Ancelotti has told the club’s hierarchy that he wants Lukaku.
Lukaku has informed Everton that he would be leaving them this summer after turning down a new £140,000 per week contract. He scored 25 league goals this season and came very close to winning the league’s golden boot.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho worked with Lukaku at Chelsea, despite offering him limited opportunities and even selling him to Everton, he is still interested in working with the Belgian.
