The latest Manchester United transfer gossip doing the rounds is that the Red Devils are plotting a summer raid on bitter rivals, Chelsea.
According to the British media, United want to sign playmaker Willian, a player that manager Jose Mourinho has been keen on signing ever since he became the manager at Old Trafford.
United held talks with the 29-year-old last summer and despite nothing coming of those discussions, they are confident that they will get their man this time around.
If United do manage to sign the Brazilian then it is highly likely that they will allow Juan Mata to leave, the 30-year-old Spaniard is not part of Mourinho’s future plans and would probably welcome a move away.
Willian is far better suited to the Mourinho style of play than what Mata is and both players have been the subject of transfer gossip over the last year or so.
Willian has been one of the better players in a disappointing season for the Blues and there is always a chance that if a new manager is brought in at Stamford Bridge that he may remain, however, as things stand today the chances are that his time in West London is fast coming to an end.
