Manchester United are willing to listen to offers for England international centre-back, Chris Smalling.
The defender is considered to have fallen down the pecking order under Jose Mourinho, as the Portuguese manager has become impatient with his constant struggle with injury and form.
Smalling played a pivotal role in United’s success in the Europa League final in Stockholm last night, but his performance will probably not be enough to convince Mourinho to keep hold of him.
Despite making up to 35 appearances for the Red Devils this season, Smalling has struggled with niggling injuries.
Arsene Wenger has previously tried to sign Smalling in the past and is full of praise and admiration at the way the Londoner, who started his career at Fulham, marshals the Red Devil’s defence.
Jose Mourinho is set to overhaul his squad this summer, and the Portuguese manager wants to have a few quality players. Smalling does not seem to fit into Jose’s description of quality player.
Luke Shaw, Ashley Young, and Wayne Rooney are among the players that are expected to leave Old Trafford this summer.
