Ajax and Manchester United are set for another battle off the field after it emerged that the Dutch giants and the Red Devils are chasing after the same transfer target.
Malmo’s striker Pawel Cibicki is the player in the centre of this transfer tug-of-war. The 23-year-old has been scouted by several top European teams this season, but it appears that Red Devils and the Amsterdam giants are the two most serious suitors.
He has scored four goals in seven appearances for his Swedish team this season, and his overall contribution to the team has been very good.
Ajax has reportedly sent John Steen Olsen, the same scout that discovered Zlatan Ibrahimovic to go and scout the youngster multiple times this season and have been impressed by the reports put together by him.
The Red Devils have another chance to look at the player at the European under-21 championship which kicks off this summer.
The two Europa League finalists are not the only team looking to sign the youngster, Serie A sides Juventus, Napoli, and Spanish teams Celta Vigo, Real Betis are also looking for the striker.
