Arsenal’s record signing Alexandre Lacazette could have been a Red Devil by now if not for a scouting report that showed he paled in many areas in comparison with Romelu Lukaku.
The Red Devils completed the signing of former Everton attacker Romelu Lukaku this week for a record £75 million, but that was after they had heavily scouted and analysed Arsenal’s Alexandre Lacazette.
Lacazette was scouted because he was the top scorer in France, but they quickly realised that 10 of his 27 goals were penalties. The report also said he had no stamina, was not reliable for big games, and had no physical impact.
The Gunners would hope these results are wrong as they have offered him £150,000 per week, and see him as their own 20 goals a season striker.
Manchester United consider Romelu Lukaku a more accomplished attacker and stole him from under the noses of Chelsea.
Lacazette has travelled with the Gunners for preseason, and he would be hoping to hit the ground running as soon as possible.
