Man Utd are interested in signing Benfica defender Victor Lindelof, according to the latest transfer gossip.
Chelsea had tried to sign the 22 year old last summer, but they failed to complete a deal before the transfer window closed, it now appears that United will make their move for the Swedish International in the January transfer window.
Apparently Jose Mourinho is an admirer of the young lad and is very keen to beat Chelsea to his signature in the new year.
Lindelof has yet to sign a new deal with Benfica, a situation that may force the Portuguese giants to consider selling him earlier than what they may have wanted to.
The defenders contract does not actually run out until 2020 and so Benfica will not have to sell cheaply, but if he does not sign an extension soon they may well want to cash in, especially considering the interest from two of the words richest clubs.
It is unlikely a deal will be done in January, but a summer move could easily happen.
