Mesut Ozil makes it clear when he will discuss possible contract extension
Arsenal play maker Mesut Ozil has insisted that talks of a new deal can wait until the end of the season. Fans of the club have been concerned that the German may not sign a new deal at the Emirates just as reports have been circulating that Ozil has rejected several contract offers from the Gunners.
According to Daily Mail, Ozil is only focused on finishing this season inside the top four, the German told the British paper that he loves to live in London and the fact that the fans care about him only makes him feel better about the club. However, he could not give assurances about his future but insisted that all talks of a new deal will resume when the season ends.
It is rumoured that Ozil wants to be sure the Gunners will be competing in the Champions League next season before he pens a new deal, he also wants assurance on Wenger’s future before committing his.
Ozil and Alexis Sanchez enter into the final 12 months of their contract and even though Ozil has never asked to leave the Gunners, it is believed that he has rejected a new deal worth £280,000 per week.
