Jose Mourinho has admitted Radamel Falcao took a massive pay-cut to sign for Chelsea this summer.
The Colombian striker scored just four goals in 29 appearances for Manchester United last term after arriving on a £6 million season-long loan deal from Monaco.
However, Mourinho believes Falcao can be a big success for the champions next season and insists that the striker is completely injury-free.
‘He is not happy that in England people think he is not as good as he is and his motivation is there,’ insists Mourinho on the Sky Sports website.
‘He did a lot of things to come to us. He lost money to come to us, he didn’t want to listen to other offers.
‘He helped us a lot to do a deal with Monaco so all these things together we think we can help him and he can help us.’
