Mourinho ‘determined’ to add deadly assassin to squad as deal closes in

There has been some fresh reports in the media which have claimed Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is determined to acquire the services of Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa, according to the Daily Express website.

Mourinho has made it well known that he is not impressed with current strikers Samuel Eto’o, Fernando Torres and Demba Ba, and has given the green light to move them on in order to sign the world-class pair this summer.

And his top target, Costa, is heavily tipped to make the trip to London in the summer in a reported £32 million deal.

The Special One has been a long-term admirer of Brazilian-born Costa, and has convinced Blues owner Roman Abramovich to meet the Spanish international’s £32million buyout clause as he looks to find the missing piece of his Chelsea jigsaw.

But Mourinho is also convinced that he needs a second experienced forward to give his squad more depth, and is positive that £25million-rated Mandzukic would be a great addition to the side.
