Didier Drogba has confirmed he is leaving Galatasaray, which could mean a sensational return to Chelsea.
The 36-year-old, whose final act in a Chelsea shirt came when he struck the winning penalty in the 2012 Champions League final in Munich, would be welcome back with open arms by the Blues faithful were he to go back to Stamford Bridge.
It is no secret that Blues boss Jose Mourinho is keen to work with the fearsome Ivory Coast ace again, as they have a special connection.
And with Drogba announcing his impending from Galatasaray, a move back to London is becoming a real possibility.
As quoted on the Daily Express website, he wrote: “Dear Fans, dear brothers, dear sisters, since day one of my arrival thanks to you all, i felt at home here in Turkey.
“Sharing, seeing, feeling the passion, sincerety and warm hospitality of My Turkish people is trully unforgettable.”
