Kieron Dyer has warned former club Newcastle that they will struggle to keep Liverpool target Hatem Ben Arfa in the January window
Ben Arfa, who is currently in talks with the Magpies over a new contract, has been linked with both Liverpool and French champions PSG in recent weeks.
And despite the 26-year-old saying he wants to become a legend at St James’ Park, Dyer believes Ben Arfa could move in the new year if European football is on offer.
‘If Hatem plays to his capabilities then there’s no better place to play football because the fans at Newcastle are amazing,’ explained Dyer.
‘But most players want to play Champions League football or European football – because that’s the highest level you can be at for your club.’ (The Metro)
Ben Arfa has big ambitions and if he wants to fulfil them he may need to join PSG or Liverpool, as staying where he is will not get him what he wants
