Newcastle United have completed the loan signing of Chelsea teenager, Kennedy. The Brazilian caused a stare last month when he posted derogatory messages about China on social media during the club’s tour of the Middle East. He was sent home immediately and has been training alone since that time.
The Blues were happy to make him available for a move away this summer just to take the spotlight away from him, and Rafael Benitez has taken advantage to add him to his squad.
Kennedy was sent on loan to Watford last season, but injuries and poor form meant he was returned to Stamford Bridge early on in the new season.
Newcastle would be hoping he can fill in well as a left back or left winger as they continue to look for value on a small budget.
Kennedy’s move makes it more than 24 players who have left Stamford Bridge this summer on temporary deals. He would hope that a season away from Stamford Bridge and a good showing at Saint James’ Park would bring a positive vibe around his name at Chelsea.
