The Philippe Coutinho transfer saga has taken a new twist with the news that French giants Paris St Germain are ready to throw their hat into the ring.
According to the latest news, PSG’s sporting director Antero Henrique has already met with Coutinho’s agent Kia Joorabchian and asked him to ignore any Barcelona offer to the player.
The French side feels confident that they can beat Barcelona to Coutinho’s signature because of the large Brazilian contingent already present at the club with Dani Alves, Neymar, Thiago Silva, Marquinhos and Lucas on their books, they feel that this could have a significant impact on the player’s decision.
PSG clearly see money has no object, they have no fear of the Fifa fair play rules and will match Barcelona penny for penny in any auction.
With two huge clubs and their financial muscle behind them wanting to sign Coutinho it is hard to see how Liverpool can continue to resist the pressure being applied, there will come a time when an offer too good to refuse is made.
Coutinho leaving Anfield in January must surely be the likely outcome.
