Chelsea have been given a huge boost in the hunt for Lionel Messi as Barcelona are reportedly ready to do business.
The Blues have been strongly linked with a £200million move for Messi in the new year, with his father and agent refusing to rule out a move.
Now the forward’s official biographer, Guillem Balague, revealed that Barca have been discussing selling Messi for the last two years.
As quoted on the Metro website, he said: “I don’t think Lionel Messi has been as close to leaving as he is now.
“I think it’s still very unlikely. But the interesting thing is that Barcelona have tried to sell him for the last two years – and he knows that.
“It just feels like a change could be good.”
