Juventus coach Max Alegri, is in line to sign a new contract with the Turin club which is a big blow to many top teams in Europe who were hoping to get him to lead their team. Particularly Barcelona and Arsenal.
Arsenal are in the market for a new manager after fans turned on Arsene Wenger and demand an end to the Frenchman’s reign as manager.
Despite rumours that Arsenal’s board still want the Wenger to stay in charge and would likely offer him a new contract, close observers believe they are secretly scouting for his replacement.
Max Alegri has led Juventus to back to back Serie A titles, and is set to win a treble this season. Arsenal see him as their answer to Chelsea’s Antonio Conte.
The Gunners need a manager that would bring in a winning mentality and culture from next season, as they plan to get back into reckoning in Europe and domestically.
Wenger has reportedly been told to shop for his replacement and help with the transition process.
It is not clear whether Alegri will sign the extension or if he would seek a new challenge like Conte.
