Manchester City manager has named the one Chelsea player that he hopes does not have a good game tomorrow.
The player in question is Pedro, who Guardiola once managed at Barcelona and who he credits with making him a better manager.
Speaking earlier today Guardiola said
‘I hope (Pedro) doesn’t perform well tomorrow. I have to thank him, he made me a better manager. Near the box he’s a killer,’
Guardiola has every right to be wary of Pedro, he is in blistering form at the moment, a very different player than what we saw last season and a player that knows how Guardiola thinks.
Pedro for his part, has also been saying some good things about his former manager
‘Of course Pep is a very good coach also and was very important in my career,’ Pedro said.
‘I want to see him again on Saturday but this will be a difficult game for us.
‘I don’t know if Manchester City will win the League under Pep or whether we can stop him, I just know it will be hard for us and the most important thing is to prepare.’
The game tomorrow is massive for all concerned, Guardiola will not have just Pedro to worry about, there are a whole host of Chelsea players that can make a difference, but City are a team full of world class talent who can inflict as much damage on the Blues as what Chelsea can do to them.
Going to be a brilliant game, that is for sure.
