Portuguese giants slash asking price ‘in hope’ Arsenal make £28 million move

Shock reports have claimed Benfica have slashed their asking price for Arsenal target Nicolas Gaitan.

The Gunners have been linked to the 26-year-old Argentina midfielder for a long time, but do not believe that he is worth the £36 million that Benfica wanted.

However, the Daily Mirror website says Benfica are ready to accept around £28m for Gaitan, in hope chasing clubs will step up their chase and finally get a deal done.

The Portuguese giants are currently cash-strapped and could sell a number of top stars to balance their books.
