Liverpool has cooled off their interest in Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlaide Chamberlain. The England midfielder was the subject of an official enquiry from the Merseyside team this summer, but it appears that the Reds have been put off by the quotation the Gunners gave them.
Jurgen Klopp loves Chamberlain, but will not pay £25 million for the midfielder who only finally broke through at the Emirates this season.
Chamberlain is entering the final year of his current deal with the Gunners, and talks of a new deal have not made much progress so far as Arsene Wenger continues to pursue deals for other summer targets.
Chamberlain’s camp is said to be angry over a lack of priority being shown to them by the Gunners and remains open to a move elsewhere, with Chelsea and Manchester City interested.
Jurgen Klopp is now focusing his attention for other top priority signings like Leipzig’s Naby Keita. The Guinean is set to cost the Anfield giants around £70 million which would almost double their current transfer record held by another summer arrival, Mohammed Salah.
