Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood has revealed the west Midlands club could offload in-form striker and long-term Chelsea target Christian Benteke this summer.
The big man has been tipped for big things after impressing in his first two seasons in English football, with the Blues keen on a deal.
However, the Belgium would first need to indicate a desire to quit Villa Park, while Villa would also not be willing to let the player leave for anything less than £25m.
“There’s been no indication to me that he wants to go elsewhere but if he does we will assess the situation,” said Sherwood on the Sky Sports website.
“You don’t want players going into the last 18 months of their contract. He’s a top player and I want to keep him. But you can’t force any player to stay.
“You might as well take the money because you end up without the money or the player.”
