Chelsea have been given the all-clear to make a record-breaking move for Barcelona forward Lionel Messi.
It has been reported in the media as of late that Barca would be willing to let Messi leave the club for a massive £200 million, putting Chelsea and Manchester City on full alert.
However, City manager Manuel Pellegrini also denied any thought of acquiring the Argentine legend, and dismissed the speculation as ‘rumour.’
As quoted on the Daily Express website, Pellegrini said: “The rumours are only rumours.
“What he did was exceptional and there are few players that can reach his level. The record he has got reflects how important he is for Barcelona.”
