Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has reiterated his willingness to sell Arsenal Maxime Gonalons this summer.
The France international is mobile, aggressive and a tidy passer of the ball, so he ticks a lot of the boxes that Arsene Wenger will be looking for in a deep midfielder.
The French boss knows he must invest in his side this summer and a holding midfielder is high on his shopping list.
And they will be boosted by the news and Aulas is open to cashing in on him.
As quoted on the TalkSport website, Aulas told Tuttonapoli.net: “The heart of Maxime beats for Lyon.
“He has attracted the interest of several clubs and is among the most popular players.
“I have always said he can leave the club at the end of the season. His sale could help us in economic terms.
“But I will see him before the holidays and tell him that his place is here in Lyon – if he wants he can stay with us again.”
