Raheem Sterling sends out a massive warning to title rivals Chelsea

Manchester City ace Raheem Sterling, has made a clear statement of intent ahead of the clash with Chelsea tomorrow.

The England international has made it clear that they will be attacking Chelsea from the very first minute, he obviously gives the West London outfit massive respect and accepts that this is a game they simply must win if they are to be taken seriously as title contenders, but his comments put Chelsea on notice, City will be going all out for the win.

Speaking to Sky Sports Sterling said,

“We want to be competing with teams like Chelsea at the end of the season so this game is a massive one for us. It’s a game we know we have to compete in from the first minute and we can’t let slip. We will be fully focused and ready to challenge and not give them an easy game,

“It’s a game we need to win to be taken even more seriously and make a statement. They are playing great football, scoring lots of goals and conceding very few, but we are fully focused and the manager is getting us ready and prepared.

“Christmas every year seems to be the most important period and this time around it is massive. We have some of the big teams so it’s a period where we need to be fully focused and know exactly what we need to do to come out in good shape after Christmas.”

Sterling is saying all the right things and will be a pivotal figure in the game, his form has never been better, he has grown under Pep Guardiola and will certainly be one of the main dangers for Chelsea tomorrow.

City are just one point behind league leaders Chelsea and so a defeat will not be the end of the world for either side, but a loss will have a psychological effect, the winners will mentally be lifted immensely, whereas the losers will have their confidence shaken significantly, this game is more than just about points.
