There is bound to be a goalkeeping merry go round when the transfer windows finally kicks in.
Real Madrid are expected to land one of Manchester United’s David De Gea or Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois. The Blues have started making plans of their own, in case the Belgian decides to jump at the opportunity to play for the Los Merenges. Courtois has not committed his long term future to Chelsea, and it is believed that he wants to become a Galactico.
Manchester United goalie De Gea is also a target for Real Madrid, and the Spaniard who has put up his Manchester home for sale is said to be willing to move back home after getting tired of Jose Mourinho’s open criticism of his performances.
Should Courtois move, Chelsea have identified Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak as a capable replacement, but the Slovenian has already held talks with Manchester United over a move to replace De Gea this summer, and Atletico Madrid have identified Napoli’s Pepe Reina as a replacement for Oblak.
The Blues are set to earn about £60 million if the Belgian joins Real Madrid.
