Real Madrid set to turn to Tottenham if they fail to land Arsenal man

Real Madrid is plotting a sensational swoop for Tottenham attacker Harry Kane.

The Los Merengues have their eyes on Arsenal’s contract rebel Alexis Sanchez who is out of contract next summer and has failed to agree on a deal with the Gunners. He came close to signing for Manchester City on the final day of the transfer window but the deal fell through after the Gunners failed to sign a replacement.

Sanchez can speak to clubs outside England from January and Real Madrid are confident they can get him to sign a pre-contract agreement with them.

However, Sanchez is keen on working with Pep Guardiola and if he decides against joining Madrid, the European Champions will turn to Kane.

Kane has netted 77 times in 108 Premier League games and Madrid see him as a capable replacement for Christiano Ronaldo who will soon turn 33.

Kane could become England’s next captain as Gareth Southgate considers him and Jordan Henderson for the job. Many would feel Kane is a good choice due to Henderson’s injury record and the fact that Kane is still very young.
