Reports in the European press are claiming that Manchester City and Manchester United are both interested in signing German playmaker Toni Kroos.
Kroos was close to joining United back in 2014, however, the Red Devils instead went ahead and signed Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw.
City are apparently interested because they are looking to replace David Silva and Fernandinho who aren’t getting any younger.
Kroos has been the engine in the Real Madrid midfield and it is a little surprising that they would sanction his departure but that is what appears to be happening, which has seen the 28-year old linked with a move to Manchester.
City manager Pep Guardiola is said to be a great admirer of Kroos and reportedly views the player as the perfect midfielder.
Kroos is at his peak now and would be able to offer at least three years at the highest level, he would fit in perfectly at both clubs but will not come cheap. Real Madrid will want to get as much as possible for the player in order for them to fund their own world-class acquisitions this summer.
A lot will depend on if the two Manchester clubs enter into a bidding war if that happens then who knows what price he will be sold for.
There is also a chance that other clubs will become interested, especially if he has a good world cup.
What is almost certain though, is that Kroos will be leaving Madrid this summer.
