Real Madrid may land David De Gea from Manchester United this summer, but he will not come cheap. The Goalkeeper is understood to be Real Madrid’s top priority this season, but they would have to break the record transfer fee for a goalie to get him.
De Gea almost signed for Real Madrid in the summer of 2015, but a delay in signing some papers meant the deal collapsed and the Spaniard decided to stay and renew his contract.
Real did not make any attempt to sign him last summer and United thought they had finally given up on signing the keeper, however, the move is back on, and looks likely to go through this time.
Despite the fact that De Gea does not speak much about leaving United, it is believed that the Spaniard would love to go home.
There was speculations that De Gea had a release clause added into his contract when he renewed his deal two years ago, but United have come out to dismiss such claims as false.
According to reports, if Real Madrid are serious about signing De Gea, they would have to pay at least £66 million. Breaking the transfer record for a goal keeper still held by Juventus legend Buffon.
