The auctioning of some of Chelsea’s academy products continues as the Blues look set to permanently transfer the signature of Croatian midfielder, Mario Passalic.
The youngster is one of many talented players on the books of Chelsea who have no realistic chance of breaking into their first team. He spent last season on loan at AC Milan, impressing greatly as he featured in 24 games for the Rossoneris, starting 20 of those. However, Milan decided against making his move permanent which has opened the way for Lazio to sign him.
Lazio is expected to sell Lucas Biglia to AC Milan in the coming days, and they know that the void that would be left by the Argentine’s move would be huge. They have also submitted a £5 million bid for Liverpool’s Lucas Leiva.
Chelsea has been shopping Passalic around as they hope to make at least £8 million from his sale.
Pasalic would become the third Chelsea prospect to leave Stamford Bridge this summer after Dominic Solanke joined Liverpool, and Nathaniel Chalobah ignored a huge pay hike to join Watford.
