Reports coming out from Spain indicates that Liverpool’s pursuit of Spanish youngster Marco Asensio may be unsuccessful after all, because Seville is believed to have the upper hand in the race to sign the player.
Asensio, 21, arrived at the Bernabeu from Mallorca in 2014 and has seen limited action this term. A move away from real Madrid is considered the best option for the player if he wants to play regular first team football.
He has managed only six starts this season and seem to be frustrated by the lack of faith in his ability showed by coach Zinedine Zidane. This has alerted several top European sides to the possibility of wooing him away from the Spanish capital.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp, is an admirer of the Spaniard and is said to be prepared to make a move for the player this summer.
However, reports this morning are claiming that the Spaniard could be headed to Seville, on a loan deal.
It is believed that Real Madrid are still nursing some hope that Asensio might become a world class player in the near future, and as such do not want to sell him yet.
So Seville may seal a loan deal ahead of Liverpool who are only interested in buying the player.
