Reports have revealed John Terry has put pen to paper on a one-year contract extension with Chelsea, according to the Sky Sports News website
The Blues’ skipper, who is out of contract this summer, has been an almost ever-present in Jose Mourinho’s side this term, with the Portuguese bringing him in from the cold and back to his best.
But despite his imperious performances at the heart of Chelsea’s defence,Terry’s future has been in doubt for some weeks, with the club seemingly not rushing to tie him down to another year.
However, the 33-year-old has signed a deal to keep him at Stamford Bridge until next summer, despite being forced to take a huge pay-cut.
Terry said: “I’m delighted to have signed an extension to my contract with Chelsea taking me into my 20th year with the club.
“I’d like to thank the fans and club for their continued support, and the manager who was instrumental for me the last season.”
