Manchester United fans can breathe a sigh of relief with the news that Real Madrid is no longer interested in signing goalkeeper David de Gea.
It is now being reported that the European Champions have turned their attention to AC Milan’s Gianluigi Donnarumma.
It had been reported that Real would make another move for the United number one after failing to sign him a couple of years ago, however, it now appears that they believe Donnarumma is a better long-term option.
The Spaniard was also reported to be keen on a return to his homeland but even that appears to no longer be the case and he is said to now be happy at United.
This is surely good news for the Europa League champions as de Gea has proven to be one of their best players, who still has many years at the top ahead of him and is sort of player that Jose Mourinho can build his defence around.
Of course, this all depends on whether this particular piece of gossip is accurate only time will tell if that is the case.
