Reports from Spain claim that Real Madrid will not be selling Arsenal and Liverpool target Karim Benzema, this summer. The Premier League duo have been circling around the Frenchman, who is reportedly unhappy that Real Madrid are looking for players that play in his position.
According to the source, Benzema has asked to leave the Bernabeu unless the club assures him of his place in the team and increase his salary significantly.
Madrid are front runners to land Monaco’s teenage sensation Kylian Mbappe, who ironically has been advised by Benzema to avoid a move away from Monaco this season.
But, Zinedine Zidane has informed the club’s board that they should reject every transfer offer received for striker this summer. The French manager sees Benzema as an indispensable part of his current team and wants him to remain with his squad beyond this summer.
This would come as a major blow to Arsenal and Liverpool who were pursuing the striker, and wanted to make him a marquee signing for their respective teams.
Liverpool had hoped that he would replace the injury prone Daniel Sturridge who looks to be on his way out of Anfield this summer, with Benzema.
