Liverpool target Charlie Austin has admitted that he wants Premier League football.
The England new boy revealed for the first time he had out-performed his wildest expectations this season, scoring 18 goals as Rangers were relegated.
“I feel like I’ve worked hard enough this season for QPR to try to be a Premier League player,” said £15m-rated Austin on the Daily Star website.
“I’ve come out a couple of times and said, ‘I don’t set myself targets’.
“But going into the Premier League for my first season, I said that eight to 12 goals games would have been perfect for me. Luckily enough I exceeded that and got 18. And missed two penaltie
