“The best left-footed defender in Germany” on way to Man United

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is keen on signing Bayern Munich defender Holger Badstuber.

The Dutch manager is set to takeover at Old Trafford after his World Cup campaign with the Netherlands and replacing Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand has become one of his top priorities.

And Van Gaal sees Badstuber as the ideal player to fill in at the heart of the United defence, according to the SportsDirectNews website.

The Dutchman once labelled Badstuber as “the best left-footed defender in Germany” and is keen on resurrecting the 25-year-old’s career following two severe injuries which have kept him out for the better part of the last 18 months.
