The odds on Gareth Bale returning to the Premier League has been slashed by several bookmakers as the Welsh man’s future continues to be shrouded in doubt.
Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane had earlier claimed that the Welsh man could leave this summer as they look to make room for the signing of Kylian Mbappe from Monaco, but this week the Frenchman hit out at Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, for claiming he would try and sign Bale if the attacker was benched in the Super Cup match.
Bale was not benched but that was only because Ronaldo was not fully match fit.
Bale has had a successful career in Madrid in terms of medals won, but that cannot be said of his fitness level since he moved to the Bernabeu in the summer of 2013. The Welsh attacker has helped Real Madrid to three Champions League trophies as well as their first league title since 2012.
However, his persistent injuries has thrown his long term future in doubt, with age no longer on his side Madrid may be forced to cash in on him this summer.
Most Punters are backing Manchester United or Manchester City to sign him this summer.
