Arsenal contract rebel Mesut Ozil, will be a little bit embarrassed that there is a shortage of takers if he was to leave the Emirates this season.
The German is currently Arsenal’s most expensive signing and their highest earner, but he is refusing to sign an improved deal worth around £250,000 per week with the Gunners.
As one of the most recognisable players in Europe, the Gunner must have hoped he would be embarrassed by offers for his services this season, but the reverse is the case.
There is a remarkable shortage of clubs interested in taking the German on, with Fenerbahce the only team showing an interest in the player. But the Turkish club would not even be able to afford his current salary of £140,000 per week. There is interest in Ozil from China, but he is reluctant to go there.
Arsenal want to keep Ozil, but if they refuse to reach an agreement for a new deal, the Gunners would put the player up for sale. They would try to get at least £30 Million from their investment in the German.
