Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is preparing to make significant changes to his defence after their humiliating 4-1 loss to Tottenham at the weekend.
Klopp has been roundly criticised for the failures in defence and it finally seems that he has woken up to the fact that changes are required.
It is now being reported that Klopp is ready to drop Dejan Lovren and replace him with 21-year-old Joe Gomez, who has been impressing this season in the right-back slot
Gomez will be replaced by 19-year-old Trent Alexander-Arnold who will now be given an opportunity to claim a first team spot on a regular basis.
Finally, Klopp is set to start Loris Karius in goal instead of Simon Mignolet.
Mignolet put in another disappointing display on Sunday and has basically lost the confidence of the manager.
Whether these changes will make much difference is open to debate, on paper it looks like papering over the cracks and it is best to reserve judgement at this stage.
