Top-class Spaniard on verge of signing big Man United deal

Manchester United stopper David De Gea is poised to sign a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2018, according to the Daily Star website.

De Gea’s current contract expires in two years and United are keen to tie him down to an improved deal worth £90,000 a week.

Barcelona have been monitoring the keeper’s situation, with a view to a potential summer move for the £25million-rated Spaniard.

De Gea, 23, has become United’s first-choice keeper despite a shaky start after joining from Atletico Madrid for £17.5m in 2011 and the club are keen to endorse his value with a new deal.
